• Acknowledge that it’s a real ask to expect parents and families to trust new providers as some people with learning difficulties have been treated badly by the care provision system.
• We must seriously re-think assessment and treatment settings and their part in enhancing peoples negative reputations.
• Try new things even when you don’t know what the outcome will be
• Do everything you can to prevent people getting lost in a system that doesn't know how to help them.
• Be aware that there are still people being made to live in institutionalised type environments
